Ok, so Week 6 and Week 7 were not so great weeks for my diet. I've been getting lazy with tracking what I eat and giving into eating out with friends too much. That being said, I'm still down overall, so I didn't get too far off track. Tomorrow is when I find out the results for Week 8..
I'm excited actually.. but I'm not going to get my hopes up too much.. Don't want to set myself up for disaster! However, I've been getting back on track this week. I've been careful with what I'm eating and making an effort to go to the gym more. I really really really hope I lost something. I'm tempted to jump on the scale upstairs to take a peek of what the results might be...... but I won't do that. It won't be accurate until I officially weigh in.
Cross your fingers everyone!

OUTSIDE LANDS!
Outside Lands 2011is the best music festival I've ever been to! I don't know if its the San Francisco culture or the awesome food, great bands, wine!, or the cool booths that made it great. It was such a refreshing atmosphere. Granted, by the end of it, I was totally and completely exhausted (still feeling the effects 1 week later).
Best performance I will give to MUSE. They headlined Saturday Night. It was such a great show. Everyone was so into the music and the ambiance of the performance, you almost didn't want it to end!
Worst performance goes to Big Boi. It really wasn't his fault that the DJ's laptop wouldn't sync with the equipment on stage.. but to have your Rep come out after your audience has been waiting 1.5 hours for you and say "instead of giving you a half ass show, we'll give you no show at all." That was just insulting. I mean, people were there waiting for you, you could have at least come out and say something yourself. One song maybe? Or how about this, you're a RAPPER you don't NEED beats to rap... Or is that concept to old school? Kudos to Dave Chappelle for kicking a beach ball into the crowd for the first time in his career though.
Performance that I surprisingly liked is MAJOR LAZER. You wouldn't know it from his weird videos on Youtube.. but this guy killed it. People were flocking to the stage because he just made it so much fun. As we were walking up to the stage one guy said "Now THAT looks like a party!" There was just so much good energy that he created. I was glad my boyfriend made me go check it out.
ANYWAY... I'm definitely going next year. It was way too good of an event to miss.. In fact, I feel bad for those that didn't get to go. So what if you don't know all the bands! Its not all about who you know. I say, as long as they perform well, its worth seeing.

Playing Blog Catch Up...
So the last few weeks have flown by. I had a birthday, went to a family reunion trip, went to outside lands and hit my 5% weightloss goal.
Seems like a lot, but lets start from the Birthday.
So, for weeks I was trying not to get excited for my birthday. I knew it wasn't going to be as great as I wanted it to be. My boyfriend wasn't going to be able to come up for LA and my girls were all busy with other things. I should be used to this. My birthday weekend has always been notorius with conflicting schedules. Anyway, I was just trying to make the most of things. I asked my family to go to diner and I was going to try to be fine with that. I mean, some people don't even get that right? Well.. when the day came... I was soooo sad. I was so upset that my boyfriend couldn't come up that it pretty much made me a sad birthday girl for most of the day. My mom tried to cheer me up and take me with her grocery shopping and lunch, but it didn't help. Finally, in the afternoon, while I was waiting for everyone to get ready to go, I just had enough. I sat on the couch in my living room and was sulking (like the brat that I am). I almost decided to cancel the whole thing... Little did I know that my boyfriend decided to surprise me by saying he wasn't going to be able to make it, but then driving all the way up here from Los Angeles! I couldn't believe it. No one has successfully surprised me on my birthday before and I feel so lucky that I have a boyfriend that was cunning enough to do so. Of course, when I saw him I thought I was dreaming, but when it finally sunk it that he was there, I was the happiest girl in the world! Kudos to my better-than-perfect boyfriend and my family for an awesome surprise.
A few days later was the 2nd Annual Yosemite Family Reunion. So much fun! We rented a 3 story cabin that was right next to the river. There were about 25 people there at one time with ages ranging from a few months to almost 60! We had tons of good Filipino food, outdoor karaoke, mah jong, alcohol board games and wii game tournaments. We spent a good amount of time in the river outside the house too. One of those days, we went into the park and biked around the Valley with the cousins. It was an all around great time. What made it even better was that there was absolutely no internet or cellphone service at the cabin. We were forced to hang out with each other. In a good way of course!
So throughout all of that crazyness, I still was able to hit my 5% Weightloss goal. It was so exciting to finally make it. I know it doesn't seem like much, but after trying so many different ways of trying to lose weight, it feels great. Weight Watchers is definitely the way to go. I think in general it just makes me more aware of what I'm eating and how much. It's all about portion control. I can satisfy my cravings by trying things, but I don't have to go crazy with it. I've also made more of an effort to stay moving throughout the day. It just feels good that all the work is paying off. =)
